What is Salesforce Agentforce?

Salesforce's AI agent platform that enables organizations to build and deploy autonomous AI agents directly within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Agentforce is Salesforce's platform for building autonomous AI agents that can take actions inside Salesforce, interact with customers across channels, and work alongside human teams. Unlike traditional automation that follows fixed rules, Agentforce agents reason over context, choose between available actions, and handle multi-step tasks without requiring a human to approve each step.

Common use cases include autonomous case resolution in Service Cloud, meeting preparation and follow-up in Sales Cloud, appointment scheduling, and customer qualification workflows. Salesforce has reported 84% case resolution rates and 60% autonomous case deflection in early deployments, though results depend heavily on the quality of the underlying Salesforce org: data cleanliness, permission model, and metadata structure all directly affect what agents can do reliably.

The technical foundation of Agentforce sits on top of an organization's existing Salesforce data, flows, Apex code, and metadata. This means the state of your Salesforce org before you start matters more than most teams expect. Organizations with incomplete data models, excessive customization, or poor data hygiene tend to get much less value from Agentforce than organizations that have maintained a clean org.

As of mid-2026, Agentforce is Salesforce's fastest-growing product. Organizations that invest time in org readiness before attempting an Agentforce deployment consistently see better outcomes than those that treat it as a plug-and-play add-on.
